Birkdale Village is walkable, has dog-tolerant sidewalks and patios and a fenced dog park inside it, which makes it a graded course: quiet corners, busier streets, a patio at the end. Latta Nature Preserve gives you over a thousand acres of lakeside trail in the other direction, and Rural Hill hosts a sheepdog trial and dog festival every year.

No. It's about twenty-three minutes from Mooresville and it's on Phillip's regular route. No travel fee. South of Huntersville into north Charlotte, ask; it depends on the address.
Can we work up to a patio at Birkdale?
That's a common goal and a good one. Birkdale is laid out like a graded course: start at a quiet edge, move toward the busier streets over sessions, and finish with a down-stay under a table. Community Outings sometimes end up there.
Where's a good long trail session near Huntersville?
Latta Nature Preserve. Lakeside trails, a six-foot-leash rule and enough space to keep your distance from other dogs while you practice.
