Davidson, Mecklenburg County
Dog training in Davidson, in your home.
Davidson is the closest Mecklenburg town to Phillip's base and one of the easiest places around the lake to train a dog in public: leashed greenways, a walkable main street and a big farm park. In-home sessions first, as everywhere; then Davidson gives you plenty of places to practice.

Training in Davidson
Where the sessions happen once they leave your living room.
The college has been here since 1837 and the town is built around it: a main street with coffee, students, bikes and strollers, which is a good graded test for a dog learning to stay calm around people. Davidson's greenway network runs more than twelve miles and connects north to Fisher Farm.
Fisher Farm Park
Two hundred acres of trails and meadows on Shearer Road. Dogs on leash at all times; bags provided. Open space and long sightlines for threshold work.
West Branch Rocky River Greenway and the Kincaid Trail
Paved, leashed, waste stations along the way. Predictable traffic of walkers, runners and bikes.
The Preserve Dog Park
Fenced off-leash park for Davidson residents with a town dog license and rabies record. Residents only.
Leash rules and park policies change; Phillip checks before each on-location session, and you should too.
What Davidson owners call about
Big dogs, reactive dogs, and the one that just came home.
Leash reactivity on subdivision sidewalks. A rescue that was quiet for a week and then wasn't. A shepherd or pit bull whose owner is tired of being judged at the vet. Fear-free, reward-based training tailored to the dog, in your house, at the distance your dog can handle.

My experience with Lucky's K9 Solutions was outstanding. Their commitment to the breed, professionalism, consistency, and genuine care created a lasting foundation for my pitbull. They taught us how to build a lasting, stronger bond with our dog, Sakka! Years later, we're still not just clients; we're furry family forever.
The only review we've published so far, in her own words. More will go here as clients agree to share them.

Questions from Davidson
Do you cover the whole of Davidson, including the lake side?
Yes. Davidson is a short drive from Mooresville and there's no travel fee anywhere in town, River Run and the lakeside neighbourhoods included.
Where's a good place to practice in Davidson?
Fisher Farm for open-space distance work, the greenway for passing traffic, and Main Street for calm-around-people practice. All leashed. Phillip chooses based on what your dog can handle that week.
My dog goes to pieces around students and bikes downtown. Is that trainable?
Yes. It's a version of leash reactivity: too much, too close. Training starts at a distance from Main Street where the dog can still think, and moves closer over sessions.
